NAATI CCL Note-Taking Strategies
By Nepali Naati Academy
Effective note-taking is crucial for recalling details from each segment. Here are some strategies to enhance this skill:
1. Develop a Shorthand System: Use symbols, abbreviations, or keywords to quickly jot down essential information. For example, "Dr" for doctor, "→" for "leads to," or "$" for money.
2. Focus on Key Details: Record names, dates, numbers, and specific actions rather than trying to write down full sentences.
3. Structure Your Notes: Divide your page into two columns—one for English and the other for LOTE—so you can track the flow of the dialogue.
4. Write each sentences separately in vertical order for each spoken sentences to ensure you have interpreted whole segment.
5. Practice Active Listening: During practice sessions, concentrate on understanding the message while simultaneously noting down the core points.
